EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
JOB SHADOWING
It is important that every employee gets the opportunity to learn and develop their skill set; a part of this is promoting job shadowing. This program fell off of many employees' radars in the last year, but since I joined, I worked on getting more employees involved! I promoted 25 employee testimonials through digital graphics, posters, and emails, which resulted in 50+ new sign ups among employees.
REVAMPING THE COMMITTEE
The 2019 Employee Engagement survey had a 97 percent response rate! While this is worth celebrating, I also wanted to focus on addressing opportunities for improvement. I worked on various communication plans, and helped to organize discovery groups to improve the department’s communication and engagement.
WORK FROM HOME ENVIRONMENT
After COVID-19 forced the city move to a virtual workplace, I created weekly MS Teams engagement posts. I would post in an off-topic chat every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with each day being a different topic! Each post got more than 50 interactions, and many employees contributed their ideas for future posts. Not only was it fun for me to do from March to July, but employees really enjoyed it as well.
